I wholeheartedly believe that trans people are hardwired to not be their birth sex, but I didn’t always think that way. The emerging behind being trans is what compelled me to not be transphobic anymore and to actually listen to what trans people had to say. While I understand that the science behind trans peoples’ wiring is new and that not everyone will be swayed by scientific evidence, the science is still important to understand in order to avoid faulty, uninformed comparisons like comparing being trans to having body dysmorphia.
