I think the trouble comes from the word “reconciliation" since it seems to focus more on Chris than the victims. Since Ryan and Chris were longtime friends and collaborators, Ryan might need time to process. He might be in a state of shock because the Chris he knew doesn’t seem like the Chris Daphne Eck (and friends) knew.
