I went to a school that actually explicitly prohibited homosexuality and it took such a toll on me that I went from an honor student to barely graduating. When we know that cases like mine aren't isolated, we know that these policies cannot enacted with the wellbeing of children in mind. They have to come from a place of cruelty.
