A lot of hatred towards Christians in the US and other similar countries comes from a place of trauma. We're only beginning to acknowledge the extent of the impact that things like Spanish imperialism, Canadian residential schools, the founding of the USA, and Croatia's Ustasha had on the world.

I say this as someone who is a Christian and in the process of dealing with my own religious trauma.
